How to Play 90 ball Bingo

Most Gala Bingo fans will already know how to play 90 ball bingo. But for any newbies or those of you who haven't yet given it a go, let's take a look.

90 ball bingo is by far the most popular version of the game here in the UK. It has been played in bingo halls across the country for more than half a century and continues to dominate online. Here's what you need to know to play 90 ball bingo.

90 ball bingo tickets

Tickets for 90 ball bingo consist of a 3x9 grid. There are 5 numbered and four empty boxes in each row of 9. Random numbers from the ranges below are arranged in the columns as follows:

    1st Column: 1 - 9 2nd Column: 10 - 19 3rd Column: 20 - 29 4th Column: 30 - 39 5th Column: 40 - 49 6th Column: 50 - 59 7th Column: 60 - 69 8th Column: 70 - 79 9th Column: 80 - 90

Tickets are usually sold in strips of six, and each strip will contain all the numbers from 1 to 90.

Calling the numbers

The numbers in play are from 1 to 90. Each number may be called only once per game. The next number up is decided by an RNG (Random Number Generator) and called by the bingo caller.

When you are playing online, the RNG is a computer algorithm. In live games, a mechanical device like a drum spins the numbers around before each call.

Playing 90 ball bingo

Grab those dauber and let's get to it! Games start with the call of "Eyes Down". Then the caller will begin drawing and calling the numbers.

As the numbers are called, mark them off on your tickets. This is done by daubing them with a special pen known as a dauber in live bingo rooms.

Online, you can do it manually by clicking or touching the boxes on your screen. Or you can choose the auto-complete option and let the computer do it for you.

Just remember to keep an eye on all six tickets!

Winning 90 ball bingo

To win a prize, players need to daub off numbers that form a winning pattern on a ticket. There are several of these, and the most common are;

Four corners - The numbers in the four corners of the ticket. Line - All five numbers in a horizontal row Two Lines - All numbers in two horizontal rows Full House - All 15 numbers on a ticket

You've got to be quick, though. If another number is called before you announce your win, it could be invalidated.

90 ball bingo prizes

The prizes vary depending on the game. Some offer cash prizes that depend on the number of players in the game. The prize money can reach serious amounts if it is a progressive jackpot that links several games together.

90-Ball Bingo Room

Gala Bingo can certainly promise the best online bingo 90 room or 90-ball game. This type of bingo is popular in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. To play, you start with a collection of tickets that include three horizontal rows and nine columns. Each row contains five numbers and four blank spaces. The first column is dedicated for numbers 1 through 9, while the second is for 10 through 19, and so forth.
